I'm so glad it's finally beginning to feel like fall.
Last Saturday, my whole family came down to tailgate before the Oregon State football game. I thought it would be fun, in honor of fall, to make pumpkin spice lattes. I had seen the recipe for these lattes on pinterest, and thought I'd try them out myself. Next time, I think I'd brew a little stronger coffee. They were still a huge hit though!
Crockpot Pumpkin Spice Lattes
Serves: 8
Total Time: 2 Hours
{Ingredients}
-8 T of pumpkin puree
-8 T of vanilla
-2 t of cinnamon
-8 cinnamon sticks
-4 cups of strongly brewed coffee
-6 cups of milk
-8 T of sugar
-whipping cream [optional]
{Instructions}
-Combine the milk and coffee, and pour into the crockpot. Whip together the other ingredients [minus the cinnamon sticks and whipping cream] and pour into the crockpot. Mix together well.
-Cover the crockpot, and cook on high for 2 hours.
-Serve in mugs. Generously put whipping cream on top of the lattes, and add a cinnamon stick for extra flavor.
-Enjoy all you pumpkin lovers!
This is great. I am always looking for good crockpot recipes. Plus, anything with coffee is a bonus!

ReplyDeleteThat sounds so freakin' good. Me and my baby crock pot will have to try this out soon!
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment the other day and second, you're just way too cute!! I've been flipping through blog, you've got great style and some great recipes! Happy weekend to you.
ReplyDeleteWhat exactly do you mean by T? Tablespoon or teaspoon?
ReplyDeleteGenerally in recipes capital T is tablespoon, lower case t is teaspoon.
DeleteI used the 1 T as tablespoon (which it usually means), but 1 T vanilla per serving was WAY too much!!! Maybe it was supposed to mean 1 teaspoon here?
Deleteususally tsp for teaspoon and tbsp for tablespoon :)
DeleteT for tablespoon and tsp for teaspoon
DeleteDo you really mean 8 Tablespoons of vanilla? That's a lot!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to try this!!I am soo ready for FALL!!! It is my FAVORITE time of year!It is only July 11..And it is 108 degree's here in Idaho!!!Bring on FALL!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm with Anonymous (above)....is it really 8 tablespoons?
ReplyDeleteYes it is!
DeleteCould you substitute tea or hot chocolate for coffee? I'm not a coffee drinker.
ReplyDeleteYeah! I'm sure you could. I bet it would be really delicious with chai tea or hot chocolate.
DeleteThis sounds delicious! I'm more in a hurry for Fall than ever!
ReplyDeleteCan you save the left overs in the fridge for the next day and reheat?
ReplyDeleteDoes the crockpot serve a specific purpose, or could you make this on a cooktop or Dutch oven instead?
ReplyDeleteOH MY!!! I am a sucker for Pumpkin....is it Fall yet? :) Thank you very much for sharing!
ReplyDelete8T = 1/2 cup
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to fall now! Great idea! I love crockpot recipes and pumpkin ANYTHING! Take a peek at my pumpkin DIP recipe! --> http://dramafreemama.wordpress.com/2011/12/28/fast-cheap-and-easy-just-the-way-you-like-it/
ReplyDeleteYUM! I went to the store tonight specifically for this recipe, lol... and it's in the crockpot as we speak! I can't wait!!! Thank you =)
ReplyDeletePumkin Spice Latte is my favorite flavor of coffee...I will definitely try this! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteCan you substitute soy milk for the regular milk??
ReplyDeleteI'm going to try it with it! I think it would still come out lovely either way.
DeleteBeautiful!!
ReplyDeleteI wonder if there is a way to do this without such snug batch, or heating up or something?
ReplyDeletemine is on the stove as we speak! I used only 5 Tbsp of vanilla (cause I have the real stuff) And I substituted one tsp cinnamon for a tsp of Pumpkin pie spice! I am very excited to try it in a couple hours!
ReplyDeleteOh yummy! This sounds delicious! Two of my favourites-pumpkin and coffee-can't wait to try! Thanks :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm trying this out for a party this week!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds wonderful, I wonder how it would be with chai tea instead of coffee. I may have to try it out.
ReplyDeleteI actually don't have a crockpot :( can I make it in a regular pot? How long do you think it would take?
ReplyDeleteCould you cook on low ? We dont drink milk so would almond milk work
ReplyDeleteJust made this..(using Starbuck Caramel Coffee)and it turned out AWESOME!! WAY better than SB version!! LOVE IT! and the house smells good too...LOL
ReplyDeleteDid you strain out the pumpkin puree?
ReplyDeleteI've made this in the crock pot as instructed in the recipe. For some reason it's very slimy. Any thoughts to why this would be? It smell fantastic, but I can't get past the layer of slime on the top. :(
ReplyDeleteMy life is now complete! I get so upset when the Pumpkin Spice Latte disappears from Starbucks. So now I can make it year round!
ReplyDeleteI found you on Pinterest and am now a new follower. If you get time come check out my linky party today!

I also found this to be very slimy, and truthfully, sludgey. i tried straining it, but that was a huge time suck as some of the particles are so small that they won't go through a strainer. Not sure how to approach this next time. Still tastes great, though :-)
ReplyDeleteI put it in a blender for awhile first.
Deleteuse a hand blender in the pot for a few minutes, purees up evenly and gets rid of most of "sludge". but you have to expect a litte, this is not aritifical pumpkin flavouring as in coffee shop stores.
ReplyDeleteDo you really use 8 Tablespoons of Vanilla? That' 1/2 cup of vanilla - I've never seen that much in any recipe.
ReplyDeleteI substituted a cup of milk with flavored coffee creamer (Coffee Mate's Italian Cream) and 2 T less of Vanilla and it was great
DeleteWhat kind of coffee do you suggest to get the stong coffee flavor?
ReplyDeleteHow well does the latte keep? Like, if I made the full serving.. would the leftovers be good to store and reheat later?
ReplyDeleteJust made this and it is delish! I have a baby crock pot so I cut this recipe in half and since I only have artificial vanilla on hand I added just 1 Tablespoon. Tastes great! My version didn't turn out slimy at all (I was prepared to strain it after reading some of the comments). Such a nice treat now that Fall is here. Thank you so much for sharing this great recipe:)
ReplyDeleteVanilla extract is expensive, and the flavor can cook out if you add it early in the heating process. Why not add much less at the end?
ReplyDeleteMade this yesterday! Sooooo good!! Love it thank you for sharing!!
ReplyDeleteI made this today for a Pinterest party at a friends house. It was a big hit. We loved it!
ReplyDeleteThis was a good recipe--made it for the moms and dads at my 4yo's birthday party...But I would use a lot less vanilla--like half or less. 8 T (was way too much). Also, someone suggested adding it at the end b/c the flavor can "cook out" (evaporate?)--I would do that next time. Thanks for the recipe--it's a keeper!
ReplyDeletewhich strong coffee do you recommend? also can you use almond milk instead of regular? or by regular do you mean whole milk because of the fat?
ReplyDeleteThis looks delish!! Now that it's fall, I'm gonna try this.....SOON!! Has anyone tried to freeze the leftovers? I'm the only one in my house who drinks coffe, so there would be lots of leftovers. I was thinking of freezing in ice cube trays to reheat later??
ReplyDeleteHey, I am planning on fixing this for an upcoming Pinterest party and will be be making a couple of large crock pots full of this deliciousness!! How many more hours do you think it would take? Don't want to overcook it, Thanks!!
ReplyDeletePerfect drink to have while sitting on your porch in the cool Fall weather!! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to make this today for a party I'm going to and I haven't yet decided if I want to put Bailey's or vanilla or whip cream vodka in it but I'm hoping either way its a hit :)
ReplyDeleteI am heating this in the crockpot right now. I have already tasted it though, and it is awesome! I am thrilled to have this since we do not have a SB nearby. Thanks so very much for sharing. Also...I mixed mine with a hand blender, and it is all well incorporated and (so far) not slimy at all!
ReplyDeleteI love this idea! I have NO coffee places near me, let alone a starbucks. They are at least a half hour drive so this and a few other recipes like it are amazing! I wanted immediate gratification and did not happen to have everything as required in the few recipes I found so I winged it! Heres what I did ...http://yogagoddess08.wordpress.com. It turned out great!! Thanks !
ReplyDeleteI am having a bunch of neices and nephews over (along with my own two little ones) to carve pumpkins this weekend, and this sounds perfect for the adults to sip on during the festivities :)
ReplyDeleteI made this, delicious! Thank you. I'm surprised it didn't need any extra spices. I guess that's real pumpkin for you. ;)
ReplyDeleteI made it for company this evening, and while it was tasty, I had the "sludge" effect. I'm thinking I didn't "whip" it enough perhaps? I'll think it through and try again. I did the whole 8T of vanilla, and it tasted great to me. I buy it in bulk at Costco, so I have plenty. =) Love my crockpot.

I used pumpkin butter instead of pumpkin puree(mostly b/c I didn't have pumpkin puree) and there was zero "sludge". This is excellent, will make it again.
ReplyDeleteNo more waiting for seasonal lattes at Dunkin Donuts, etc. I can make my favorite all year when I'd like to indulge.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your recipe! I'm linking to your recipe on my blog today with the picture I pinned on Pinterest. I hope that's ok with you. You can find the post here:
